New Updates to the Zoning Resolution Coming Soon
The Zoning Administrator and Zoning Commission have committed to making much needed updates to the zoning resolution in 2025-2026. Miami Township was also the proud recipient of a state of Ohio grant that allowed the township to enter into a contract with Greene County Regional Planning and Coordinating Commission (RPCC) to provide direct expert support to our zoning department. The funding from this grant will allow the Zoning Commission to make major updates to the zoning resolution in a much shorter period of time to get our zoning resolution more legally sufficient, better organized and easier for residents to understand. Efforts have started in 2025 and will culminate in an updated zoning resolution by June of 2026.
Below are the DRAFT copies of zoning resolution text amendments that are being considered. The zoning commission will continue to address these sections of the resolution at monthly meetings, culminating into a Township Open House on February 5, 2026 led by Greene County Regional Planning and Coordinating Commission, followed by a Zoning Commission Public Hearing on April 2, 2026 where these topics can be discussed with residents and then ultimately a Township Board of Trustees Public Hearing on April 20, 2026 to hear public opinion and to consider the adopt these text amendment into the current zoning resolution.
