Our heartfelt thanks goes out to all Miami Township voters whether you voted for the levy or not. These are not easy times and the financial needs of both villages and school districts within our Township are urgent. This year will bring careful review of staffing and budget so that we can creatively maximize the efficiency of your tax dollars. The final result were 59.1% in favor, 40.1% against, with 65.5% voter turnout.
View Public Hearing On Utility Solar
On Monday November 7, 2022 Miami Township held a Public Hearing on utility scale solar projects in the Township. The issue immediately at hand was whether or not trustees should recommend to the Greene County commission that any or all land in the township be restricted from solar development greater than 50 MW, per Ohio Senate Bill 52. It was an a very interesting community forum with broad representation of stakeholder viewpoints. View Public Hearing
Voters OK Issue 9 Aggregation of Natural Gas
Voters in the unincorporated areas in Miami Township voted with other unincorporated residents of Greene county to give the county the authority to aggregate retail natural gas loads for unincorporated areas of the county. Under aggregation, the county can negotiate with suppliers on behalf of eligible customers to save money. Greene County passed the issue with a vote of 65% yea, 35% nay.
