Comedy in the Cornfield Summer Shows Approved
By a unanimous decision of 4-0, the Miami Township Board of Zoning Appeals approved 15 Comedy outdoor shows at Wirrig Family Pavilion in Miami Township, hosted by local resident and comedian Dave Chappelle. The shows will take place between June and October, with dates to be announced.
BZA chair Richard Silliman cited the economic benefits to Miami Township in his motion to approve temporary use request by pavilion owner Steve Wirrig. In his application, Mr. Wirrig stated that the shows will occur no more than three times per week and will not be held on Sundays, except in the case of three-day holiday weekends. In order to decrease traffic, parking on site will be limited and attendees will be transported by bus from the parking lot of a local business.
