CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm. by Chairperson Mucher.  Trustee Moir was present. Fire Chief Altman, Road Department employee Gochenouer and Fiscal Officer Silliman were in attendance.

George and Cyndi Pauwels, YS News reporter Lauren Shows, Bath Township Trustees Kassie Lester and Rob Hoffman and Township resident Jenifer Adams were also present.

ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES

A MOTION by Ms. Moir and SECONDED by Mr. Mucher was made to adopt the minutes of November 7th.  MOTION CARRIED unanimously.

PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS

A MOTION by Ms. Moir and SECONDED by Mr. Mucher was made to pay accounts in the amount of $41,000.18: General Fund – $559.82; Fire Fund – $33,924.71; Cemetery – $763.20; EMS Billing – $3,754.90; Road and Bridge – $2,016.96.  MOTION CARRIED unanimously.

PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS

Bath Township Trustees Hoffman and Lester presented a plaque to Miami Township in appreciation of the Fire and EMS services that was provided to Bath Township the past 2 years.

FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT

Chief Altman reported there were 36 EMS incidents (4 in Bath Twp.) and 11 Fire incidents (1 in Bath Twp.) since the last report.

A MOTION by Ms. Moir and SECONDED by Mr. Mucher was made to adopt RESOLUTION 2022-41: Reclassification of an Employee.  MOTION CARRIED unanimously.

Brush truck 81 is back in service after sustaining damage from a field fire in Cedarville.  OTARMA is covering the claim less sales tax and a $500 deductible.

The Department now has 3 new fire inspectors: Lt. Kline, FF/PM Turner and FF/EMT Cassady Brewer have all successfully completed their respective courses and received state-certification.  A $1 raise is given to reflect their new certifications.

Lastly, Chief Altman requested authorization to purchase lockers for Department employees to keep their belongings at the cost of $2,505.  A MOTION by Mr. Mucher and SECONDED by Ms. Moir was made to approve of the Chief’s request and pay for the lockers from the General Fund’s monies.  MOTION CARRIED unanimously.

CEMETERY REPORT

Mr. Gochenouer reported there was 1 burial in Clifton since the last report.  There is a burial scheduled tomorrow in Clifton.  It was agreed to mow Clifton one more time this year.

ROAD DEPARTMENT REPORT

Mr. Gochenouer reported the request made to “clean-up” the Township garage is progressing.  He added he plans to mow some ditches next week.

Employee Morris is taking next Monday-Wednesday off and Mr. Gochenouer is taking vacation time December 7th-12th.

A MOTION by Ms. Moir and SECONDED by Mr. Mucher was made to adopt RESOLUTION 2022-43: Annual Report of Township Roads.  MOTION CARRIED unanimously.

FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT

A MOTOIN by Ms. Moir and SECONDED by Mr. Mucher was made to adopt RESOLUTION 2022-43: Amendment of Permanent Appropriations.  MOTION CARRIED unanimously.

A MOTION by Mr. Mucher and SECONDED by Ms. Moir was made to move in to Executive Session re: employee hiring.  MOTION CARRIED unanimously.  Time 5:35 pm.

The Trustees returned from Executive Session at 5:39 pm.  Trustee Mucher stated that with the approval of Trustees Hollister and Moir, they give authorization to Fiscal Officer Silliman to hire a person to take minutes of the Trustees’ meetings and pay said person $50/meeting.

 

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS

MVRPC – Cancelled.

RPCC – No report.

YSDC – No report.

Clifton-Union Cemetery – No report.

CAP – Ms. Moir reported that the group is seeking a half time coordinator for the committee.

NEW BUSINESS

Ms. Moir reported she went to the Home, Inc. presentation of the plans for their next project.  She felt it was very interesting and well presented.  This next project will be located adjacent to the Fire Station.  Funding for this project is at the very beginning stages.

Mr. Mucher reported he met the new Village/Township Mediation Program Director.  This person will be working in conjunction with the Community Outreach Program.

 

OLD BUSINESS

Jenifer Adams thanked the Trustees for holding the recent Public Hearing re: solar farm installations.  She felt it was important to “get the temperature” of the Township residents.
