MINUTES
MIAMI TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES
DECEMBER 20, 2021
CALL to ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:03 p.m. by Chairperson Hollister. Trustee Mucher, Fire
Chief Altman, Road Department employee Gochenouer and Fiscal Officer Silliman were present.
Also in attendance was newly-elected Township Trustee Marlian Moir and Township resident Jenifer
Adams.
ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES
A MOTION by Mr. Mucher and SECONDED by Mr. Hollister was made to adopt the minutes
of December 6th as amended. MOTION CARRIED unanimously.
PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS
A MOTION by Mr Mucher and SECONDED by Mr. Hollister was made to pay accounts in the
amount of $38,831.79: General Fund – $3,291.10; Fire Fund – 20,656.06; Cemetery – 5,645.14; EMS Billing – $900.84;
Road and Bridge – $3,338.65. MOTION CARRIED unanimously.
CORRESPONDENCE
The Trustees received:
· Ohio Twp. Association’s December 10th Legislative Alert; December Grassroots

· Notice from MVRPC re: membership dues & delegate designation forms;
· Coronavirus State &. Local Fiscal recovery Funds — NEU Portal Open;
· RPCC December 14 meeting announcement;
· Notice from Ohio Power Siting Board rc: evidentiary hearing set for the week of
March 7. 2022;
· STAR Ohio online portal available..
· Fund Status; Revenue Status and Appropriation Status reports for 12/20/21
FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT
Chief Altman reported there were 30 EMS (2 in Bath Twp.) and 11 Fire incidents (2 in Bath
Twp.).
At the recommendation of the Chief, a MOTION by Mr. Mucher and SECONDED by Mr.
Hollister was made to adopt RESOLUTION 2021.52: Reclassification of a Volunteer. MOTION
CARRIED unanimously_
In other staff news, Payton Cooper, Jake Rich and Gavin VanMeter have all received
certification as Level I Firefighters. In addition, Georgia Goad has passed all her National Registry
requirements and is now certified as a Paramedic.
Mr. Hollister asked the Chief how much training MTFR has provided to other departments in
the past. Chief Altman replied that the Department has provided a lot of training in years past but other
provider options have become available for less cost to the trainees.

CEMETERY REPORT
Mr. Gochenouer reported there was one full burial since the last report. Section marker signs
have been erected. It was confirmed that the Columbarium will be delivered in the Spring.
ROAD DEPARTMENT REPORT
Mr. Grochenour reported that potholes were filled last week and more salt was hauled to the
Township bin. Husted Road sign is painted and ready to be installed.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT
A MOTTON by Mr. Mucher and SECONDED by Mr. Hollister was made to adopt
RESOLUTION 2021-53: Amendment of Permanent Appropriations. MOTION CARRIED
unanimously.
STANDING REPORTS
MVRPC – It was stated no meeting was held in December.
RPCC Mr. Mucher reported the Commission reviewed the usual zoning amendments.
Grinnell Mill – Mr. Mucher reported there has been discussion regarding who will manage the Mill in the future.
Clifton-Union Cemetery – No meeting held.
YS Community Development Corporation — Mr. Hollister reported that there was no action of
interest taken to report. The Corporation will meet in January to appoint Officers to commence in
February.
Greene County Solid Waste District Mr. Hollister reported the group spent the past year
reviewing the 3 year plan and after submitted, the State approved the plan. Education in schools is the
next focus in the plan.
