MIAMI TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES
DECEMBER 16, 2019
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm. by Chairperson Mucher. Trustee Hollister was present. Road Department employee Gochenouer and Fiscal Officer Silliman were also present.
ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES
A MOTION by Mr. Hollister and SECONDED by Mr. Mucher was made to adopt the minutes of December 2nd as presented. MOTION CARRIED unanimously.
A MOTION by Mr. Hollister and SECONDED by Mr. Mucher was made to adopt the minutes of December 10th as presented. MOTION CARRIED unanimously.
PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS
A MOTION by Mr. Hollister and SECONDED by Mr. Mucher was made to pay accounts in the amount of $42,394.23: General Fund – $2,586.95; Fire Fund – $20,921.71; Cemetery Fund – $5,732.92; EMS Billing – $8,154.75; Road and Bridge – $4,997.90. MOTION CARRIED unanimously.

NEW FIRE HOUSE REPORT
Mr. Mucher reported that the shell of the tornado shelter is in place. The structural construction of the project is on schedule.
CEMETERY REPORT
Mr. Gochenouer reported there was a full burial today in Glen Forest Cemetery.
Jackson Lytle Funeral Home has contacted Mr. Gochenouer regarding a deceased indigent person and asked if Miami Township is willing to provide burial of the deceased’s ashes. The Trustees agreed to allow the ashes to be placed in the Scattering Garden and have her name etched on the stone.
Mr. Hollister informed Mr. Gochenouer that the Clifton Cemetery Board has decided to allow requests for memorial trees to be planted in the Cemetery. He added that placement of a tree would be the decision of Mr. Gochenouer. Mr. Gochenouer agreed with the arrangement.
ROAD DEPARTMENT REPORT
Mr. Gochenouer reported that he spent the night plowing snow.
The old tanker is now in the Clifton station.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT
A MOTION by Mr. Hollister and SECONDED by Mr. Mucher was made to adopt RESOLUTION 2019-54: Amendment of Permanent Appropriations. MOTION CARRIED unanimously.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
MVRPC – Mr. Mucher reported it was a good meeting.
RPCC Executive Committee – Mr. Mucher reported that financial matters were discussed.
Clifton-Union Cemetery – Mr. Hollister reported that President Clem has agreed to investigate the status of a property on SR 72 that has been willed to the Cemetery upon the passing of the owner.
YSCDC – Mr. Mucher reported the group is working on finding a buyer for the old fire station.
Solid Waste District Policy Committee – Mr. Hollister reported there is a plan to start a public education effort on recycling mid-2020. He added only 7% of county residents are contracted with a recycling provider.
Complete Census Committee – Mr. Hollister reported the Committee’s goal is to count all residents including those that have been temporarily displaced due to the recent tornadoes and college campuses.

There being no further business to discuss, a MOTION by Mr. Hollister and SECONDED by Mr. Mucher was made to ADJOURN. MOTION CARRIED unanimously. Time – 5:45 pm.
